DayZero Systems

Pittsburgh's Technology Collaborative has announced significant grant funding for Internet security software company, DayZero Systems.

Company co-founders Tom DiClemente and Peng Liu are developing the software to address effective 'Zero Day' protection, with initial products providing worm prevention and firewall functionality for enterprise and consumer markets.

A smaller $25,000 grant was awarded in 2006 by the PA Cyber Security Commercialization Initiative. Gran Sasso Ventures LP, DiClemente's fund, made the initial investment in the company.

Penn State University owns the intellectual property licensed by DayZero and patents have been filed.
